Real-Life Puff Count Test: iJoy Bar SD40000 Disposable Vape

Hey everyone! Today, I’m sharing my real experience with the iJoy Bar SD40000. You know those big puff count numbers you see—40,000 puffs in Drive Mode and 20,000 puffs in Strong Mode—but are they real? I wanted to find out if these claims hold up in everyday use. So, here’s what happened when I tested it myself.

The iJoy Bar SD40000 advertises 40,000 puffs in Drive Mode and 20,000 puffs in Strong Mode. These numbers are based on short puffs (about 2 seconds) under perfect conditions. But we all know that most of us vape differently—sometimes longer puffs, sometimes shorter ones, and definitely not always under “perfect” conditions.

So, here’s what I really got with the Miami Mint flavor. Spoiler alert: it kept things super fresh the whole time!

In Drive Mode (running at 18W), I tried to take 2-3 second puffs to see how close I could get to the promised 40,000 puffs. In my tests, I managed around 37,000 to 39,000 puffs. The trick was keeping each puff short and consistent. I was actually pretty impressed by how close I got to the advertised number.

The Miami Mint flavor was refreshing and smooth with these short puffs. The cool, minty taste was crisp and consistent, and I loved that I could enjoy the flavor without using up too much e-liquid.

When I switched to 4-6 second puffs in Drive Mode, the puff count dropped. The longer you puff, the more e-liquid and battery you use. With this longer puffing style, I got around 30,000 to 32,000 puffs. Still not bad, but keep in mind that longer puffs will use more juice and battery.

With longer puffs, the Miami Mint flavor felt even more intense. The minty coolness really hit me, and I loved it! But, it did use more e-liquid, which meant fewer puffs overall.

Strong Mode runs at 30W and focuses on more flavor and bigger clouds. When I kept my puffs to 2-3 seconds, I got around 18,000 to 19,000 puffs. Using Miami Mint in Strong Mode was amazing. The flavor was super strong and satisfying, but I had to keep the puffs short to make the e-liquid last longer.

The flavor in Strong Mode was great with shorter puffs—each one felt like a burst of cool mint. It was tough not to take longer puffs because the flavor was so good!

With 4-6 second puffs in Strong Mode, the puff count went down a lot. The increased power and longer puffs meant I was using up the e-liquid and battery faster. I ended up getting around 14,000 to 15,000 puffs. The clouds were bigger, and the minty flavor was fantastic, but I had to accept the trade-off—fewer puffs.

Longer puffs in Strong Mode made the Miami Mint flavor really explode. The cool mint felt much richer and fuller, which was awesome, but I could feel the e-liquid draining faster. It was a great experience for flavor, but not for stretching out the puff count.

Yes, the adjustable airflow feature really impacts how many puffs you get. Here’s how:

  • Tighter Airflow: When the airflow is tight, you get a draw that feels more like a cigarette. This uses less e-liquid, so you get more puffs overall. I recommend a tighter draw if you want to make the vape last longer.
  • Open Airflow: With open airflow, you get bigger clouds, but you also use more e-liquid. It drains the battery faster too, which means fewer puffs. If you love airy draws and big clouds, keep in mind it will reduce your puff count.

Here are some features of the iJoy Bar SD40000 that affect puff count:

  • AI Voice Control: This lets you switch modes without buttons. You can say things like “Hey, iJoy” to wake it up or “S Mode” to switch to Strong Mode. It’s handy, but if you want more puffs, Drive Mode is your best bet for everyday vaping.
  • 750mAh Rechargeable Battery and 20mL E-Liquid: The large battery and e-liquid volume mean fewer recharges and more use. But if you don’t manage the battery well, like overcharging or draining it completely too often, it can hurt battery life and reduce puff count.
  • Adjustable Airflow: A tighter draw uses less e-liquid, which can help get closer to the maximum puff count. Wide-open airflow gives bigger clouds but uses more e-liquid and battery per puff.
  1. Puff Duration: Longer puffs use more e-liquid. The advertised numbers are based on 2-second puffs, but if you usually take 3-5 second puffs, you’ll get fewer puffs.
  2. Vaping Mode: Drive Mode is more efficient for puff count, while Strong Mode is all about flavor and clouds, which use more e-liquid and battery.
  3. Vaping Frequency: Chain vaping, or taking puffs back-to-back, heats the device, making it less efficient. Giving it a break helps maintain efficiency and keeps the puff count higher.
  4. Environment: Temperature affects battery and e-liquid. Keeping the vape at a moderate temperature helps it work better and keeps the puff count up.
  5. Charging Habits: Charging properly is important. Don’t overcharge or let the battery fully die too often—this helps keep the battery healthy and the puff count higher.
  • Drive Mode: If you take 2-3 second puffs, expect around 37,000 to 39,000 puffs. With 4-6 second puffs, expect 30,000 to 32,000 puffs. Drive Mode is the way to go for longer use.
  • Strong Mode: With 2-3 second puffs, you can get 18,000 to 19,000 puffs. With 4-6 second puffs, it’s more like 14,000 to 15,000 puffs. Strong Mode gives better flavor but fewer puffs.

Want to make the iJoy Bar SD40000 last longer? Here are a few tips I found helpful:

  1. Stick to Drive Mode: For everyday use, Drive Mode will help you get the most puffs.
  2. Take Shorter Puffs: Try to keep your puffs around 2-3 seconds to get closer to the advertised numbers.
  3. Avoid Chain Vaping: Give it a rest between puffs to help keep the battery and e-liquid from draining too quickly.
  4. Adjust Airflow: Keep the airflow tighter if you want more puffs. It uses less e-liquid and stretches out the vape.
  5. Charge Properly: Don’t overcharge or let the battery die completely too often. Good charging habits keep the battery in good shape and help you get more puffs.

The iJoy Bar SD40000 is a great disposable vape if you’re looking for lots of puffs, but it’s important to keep realistic expectations. The advertised 40,000 puffs in Drive Mode and 20,000 puffs in Strong Mode are possible, but only if you use it in ideal conditions. For me, I got about 30,000 to 39,000 puffs in Drive Mode and 14,000 to 19,000 puffs in Strong Mode, depending on how I vaped.

The AI voice control and dual modes make it easy to switch up your experience. If you want both long-lasting use and great flavor, the iJoy Bar SD40000 is a solid choice. Plus, the Miami Mint flavor I used was consistently cool and refreshing, and I really enjoyed it.
